FIRST Day

Day 1:

I have landed in Florence, OR to start the first of hopefully many days riding a bicycle on the TransAmerica bicycle trail.

The Ride has started!! The day seemed of never arrive, but today that day arrived. I started in the town of Florence OR and rode the 4 miles to North Jetty beach to see the Pacific Ocean. The goal is to reach the Atlantic Ocean. A lot has to go right for me to see the Atlantic Ocean. I am hopeful however. 

Today was a shake the cobwebs out and get used to the bike with weight on it and take it easy so i can get into better riding shape without any injuries.

I rode highway 126 out of Florence beside the Siuslaw River so the road was flat and riding was easy. Weather was gorgeous, no wind and sunny. If only all days were like today. 

Tonight I am camping behind an Evangelical Church in the town of Swisshome OR. It is so pretty here. Tall trees, lots of flowering shrubs and a favorite, plum blossoms
