Day One: Starting My Journey to St. Johns Newfoundland

The first day of a long trip finally arrived!I plan to ride to St John’s Newfoundland. It is a long journey, and it will be interesting to get there.

In 2023 when I was biking across America I rode this same path that I started on today, Traveling east to Platville, then through Ault picking up Highway 14 to Nebraska. It's amazing how good my memory was as those long days on the bike came flashing to my mind. The miles I drove in 1 day today took me 5 days to pedal those few years back. It is interesting to leave the tall rocky mountains in the rearview mirror. They are beautiful as ever.

Heading east through the small towns of eastern Colorado is great, lots of open spaces. Winds were a strong 30mph +.  The winds were mostly at my back.
Out here, there are many semis hauling grain and cattle. Tis the season. 

 
A short day to start off the trip but a good day for sure.
